Home > A Letter from Our President A Letter from the President As an educator, I found it very frustrating to see some students fall behind year after year. It wasn't anyone's fault, just a simple fact every student learns at a different pace. Some students need extra help. Some need help in math, others in science or reading, and still others need help with study skills. When I founded Learning Exchange in 1996, I established an organization committed to helping students do better in school. We developed a unique system to evaluate a student's area of strengths and weaknesses, and then we developed an organized program to help each student succeed. Another important fact to the success of a student in school is self-esteem. With our programs, students develop a new sense of self-esteem, which is so critical to their future success. Once students believe in themselves and see they can become better students, learning becomes fun again. Our responsibility is to proactively work with the community, school districts and families to understand the current and emerging educational needs and opportunities. Ellen Larkin Sternig
